6. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

by J.K. Rowling

This was a richly rewarding ending to a fantastic seven book series. I loved the whole lot of them. I'll say nothing more.

The other side of falling in love with a series is the fear that it will crash and burn, derail, lose steam, etc. Each time a Harry Potter book got released I was both excited and nervous. I was so impressed that she managed to keep up the quality of the writing to the end and this final book was just awesome.

If you read George R. R. Martin or Robert Jordan (R.I.P.), you know what I mean. I quit on Jordan years ago because the books kept getting weaker and weaker. Who knows is Martin will finish his excellent, so far, Fire and Ice series.
